Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a fiduciaire and a chartered accountant in Luxembourg?

In Luxembourg, the word « fiduciaire » is commonly used for a firm that handles the accounting, tax and administrative formalities of companies. The title of expert-comptable is regulated and requires registration with the Ordre des Experts-Comptables. Ease Advisory covers all of these areas: bookkeeping, tax returns, payroll and company secretarial work.

How much does an accountant cost in Luxembourg?

Fees depend on the volume of accounting documents, the type of structure (trading company, holding or group) and the scope of the engagement: bookkeeping alone, or bookkeeping combined with tax, payroll and legal follow-up. We issue a tailored quote after an initial discussion about your situation.

What is the deadline for filing annual accounts in Luxembourg?

Annual accounts must be approved by the shareholders and then filed with the Trade and Companies Register within seven months of the financial year end. Late filing exposes the company to fines and, ultimately, to administrative dissolution proceedings.

Do I need a statutory auditor (commissaire aux comptes) or an approved auditor (réviseur d’entreprises agréé)?

These are two distinct engagements. The commissaire aux comptes carries out a supervisory and review role, while the réviseur d’entreprises agréé performs an audit of the accounts. The expert-comptable, in turn, provides advice and assistance. We help you identify which requirement applies to your company.

How long does it take to set up a company in Luxembourg?

The timeline mainly depends on obtaining the business permit issued by the Ministry of the Economy, followed by the notarial deed for a SARL or SA, while a SARL-S can be incorporated by private deed. Registration with the Trade and Companies Register comes next. We prepare the file in parallel to keep delays to a minimum.

Do you support international groups and their Luxembourg subsidiaries?

Yes. We provide local support for subsidiaries: bookkeeping, Lux GAAP and IFRS reporting, consolidation and coordination with the group finance teams. We also assist entrepreneurs who wish to set up an activity in Luxembourg.
